The Grappler, Surly's specialized drop-bar trail bike, boasts mountain geometry tailored for a comfortable, confident ride on single tracks, double tracks, and other challenging surfaces. It's designed to carry essential gear for extended dirt rides and swift bikepacking adventures, with front and rear thru-axles ensuring optimal stiffness and handling. Built around 27.5-inch wheels, it's compatible with internally geared hubs and single-speed setups, thanks to Surly's reliable Gnot-Boost spacing, allowing for 142mm or 148mm rear hubs. Crafted from 100% Surly Chromoly steel, the frame and fork feature proprietary 'Natch tubing, a double-butted main triangle, 1-1/8-inch headtube, non-suspension corrected horizontal-slotted dropout, and Surly Gnot-Boost spacing. It includes seatstay-mounted bottle bosses, three-pack mounts at the top and bottom of the down tube, and stealth dropper post routing. The E.D. coated frame enhances durability, and it accommodates 27.5 x 2.8-inch tires (with or without fenders).
